The Teacher Training Program at In & Up Pilates is a fully comprehensive Classical Pilates education covering the full range of mat and apparatus work. Trainees will explore the principles, history, and traditions of the Pilates method.  Through the lineage of Romana Kryzanowska, we offer the perspective of her training, as well as her students, to combine the voices and instruction of many Classical instructors into our training program. In a small intimate setting, we provide trainees with an environment to study the complete system with support and guidance.  Our goal is to not only provide trainees with a deep understanding of the exercises, but to also develop the trainee's personal eye for assessing the body in front of them and the critical thinking ability to apply the appropriate workout for each client. Additionally, we will provide all the preparation necessary for the PMA certification exam.

The coursework is a minimum of 600 apprenticeship hours of observation, study, teaching, and coaching.

Four(4) Weekend Teaching Seminars covering the Comprehensive System of the Pilates Method on of the Classical Apparatus: Universal Reformer, Mat, Chairs, Cadillac/Wall Unit, Barrels, and accessories.  Coursework for the weekends is divided as follows:

  • Beginner System
  • Intermediate System I
  • Intermediate System II
  • Advanced System

Additional Topics include: Functional Anatomy, Business Management, Pre-Pilates and Programming for Pain and Injuries.

Trainees will need to dedicate a minimum of ten(10) hours per week in the studio. Throughout the program trainees must attend 1-1/2 hour apprentice meeting and workout and 1 private session each week.  Other Pilates group and mat classes are strongly encouraged to maintain the strength necessary to safely and competently execute the coursework.
