Katy was introduced to the Pilates Method as a way to rehabilitate from an ankle injury.  Always an active person through yoga, running, biking, hiking, swimming and outdoor activities, Katy fell in love with Pilates as a way to achieve better posture, strengthen her core, obtain muscle tone, and maintain healthy joints.  As an added bonus, she also found that Pilates fosters mental focus.  Wanting to reach an advanced level in her own practice, Katy enrolled in the very rigorous 1000-hour advanced training program offered by The Pilates Center in Boulder, CO.  Her appreciation for the healing properties of Pilates deepened, and it is this passion for health and movement that she brings to the classes she teaches.  She believes that exercise should always be fun and engaging regardless of how hard one works.
